STEM.org: A Global Leader in STEM Education Certification
STEM.org is the world's longest-running STEM education/STEAM education professional organization, recognized by US Congress members and has been promoting STEM education/STEAM education certification for over 20 years.
With over 100,000 students, 4,000 teachers (80% of applicants pass certification), 5,000 venues (15.9% of applicants pass certification), and 43,000 products (68% of applicants pass certification) worldwide, STEM.org is dedicated to promoting STEAM education.
STEM.org offers certifications in four main categories:
People Certification: For individuals involved in STEM education, such as teachers, administrators, and trainers.
Program Certification: For instituions, schools, libraries, museums, and other venues that provide STEM education opportunities.
Educational Product Certification: For STEM education products, such as curriculum materials, software, and toys.
Publication and Media Certification: For STEM education publications and media, such as books, magazines, and websites.
In 2021, STEM.org introduced the "Student Certification," which can be applied for by certified individuals and issued by certified institutions. Starting in 2022, STEM.org student certifications can be used as one of the Ministry of Education's certified diverse performance certifications for learning history.
The Asia-Pacific STEM Education Association (AAES) is authorized by STEM.org to handle all certifications in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China. As of December 2023, the number of official STEM.org certifications in Asia is 21 venue certifications, 14 product certifications, 131 people certifications, and 255 student certifications.
