    Our Vision

Building Asia's first complete STEM education certification ecosystem

AAES anchors international standards across four pillars — teachers, venues, products, and students — so educators across Asia can teach with confidence and learners can be recognized worldwide.

Building a New Education Paradigm for Asia — AAES's Global Mission and Local Action

As 21st-century education faces unprecedented change, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) has become a core strategy for nations competing for future talent. In response, the Asian Association for the Education of STEM (AAES) was founded in 2021 by Cheng-Shu Yung together with leading educators across Asia, with the goal of building an education-transformation platform that joins international certification with locally-grounded practice.

AAES is the official Asia-region certification partner of STEM.org, and is currently the only body authorized to issue STEM.org's three core certifications — for teachers, venues, and products — across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Indonesia. More than a technical partnership, this is a structural mission: to let Asia's educators and learning spaces develop their own innovation pathway by global standards.

    A Seed Promise

We began by cultivating “seed instructors”, translating STEM.org international standards into a teaching language that fits Asian educators. Every seed instructor is a starting point of AAES’s grassroots work.

    From Classroom to Real-World Venues

From kindergartens, primary schools and learning centers to corporate classrooms, AAES has supported 20+ venues in obtaining international certification — building trustworthy STEM environments.

    From Teaching Tools to Publications

We help Asian-designed manipulatives, picture books and digital resources earn STEM.org certification, making “designed in Asia, used by the world” possible.

From Personal Certificate to Learning Ecosystem

Across the four certification systems — instructors, venues, products and students — AAES is building the first complete STEM education certification ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific.

    Three Strategic Goals for 2026–2030

    GOAL 01

Cultivate 1,000 internationally certified STEM instructors

Build complete instructor pipelines across the seven Sinophone regions — Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China — so every city has trustworthy STEM educators.

    GOAL 02

    Certify 100 STEM teaching venues

From kindergartens and high schools to physical and online platforms, support 100 venues in obtaining STEM.org international certification — setting the regional benchmark.

    GOAL 03

Empower 10,000 students with international certification

Combining Taiwan’s 108 curriculum learning portfolios with international credentials so Asian students’ achievements are recognized by global universities and employers.
