2025.11 — Invited to share an introduction to art and design thinking at the Taipei STEAM and Emerging Technologies Development Office
At the invitation of the Taipei STEAM and Emerging Technologies Development Office and Professor Kun-Yi Lin of National Taiwan Normal University, AAES spoke at Taipei Municipal Zhongshan Girls High School to primary and secondary school principals and frontline teachers from across Taiwan. AAES Director of Teaching Ya-Hsin Chen explored how STEM and art can work together through hands-on activities.

2025.07 — AAES joins the Alpha-E fusion education platform showcase at STEM.org-certified Trash Kitchen
On July 5, 2025, Trash Kitchen partnered with the Alpha-E fusion education platform to host a future-energy exploration designed for certified teachers. Centered on nuclear fusion, the special session covered energy conversion, thermal-energy use and everyday applications of plasma. Through modular teaching aids and hands-on activities, participants experienced how Alpha-E turns complex fusion concepts into learning that can be explored, understood and discussed. Trash Kitchen has held STEM venue certification since its founding and is Asia’s first STEM education experimental space to combine sustainability technology. This collaboration further expanded interdisciplinary learning and practical application, making the venue an important platform for clean-energy education. Chien-Chih Huang, founder and CEO of Xiaozhi R&D, said: “The future we imagine is not only low-carbon; it should also be interesting. Combining the program with fusion is an exploration of what future education and energy-conscious living could become.”

2024.11 — AAES co-organised the 2024 KidWind Challenge in Asia
AAES co-organised the 2024 KidWind Challenge in Asia, where students and participants built, operated and presented wind-energy projects at the competition venue.

2024.03 — Teacher training partnership with the National Museum of Natural Science (NMNS)
In collaboration with NMNS, AAES delivered STEM teacher training combining museum collections with lesson design, supporting 80 teachers in completing professional development.

2023.12 — 2023 AAES Annual International STEM Education Forum
AAES hosted its first annual international STEM forum, bringing together STEM.org U.S. headquarters, Taiwan’s MOE and representatives from six Asian countries.

2023.06 — Dragon Boat Festival carnival with the Keelung City Government
Keelung City Government’s Department of Civil Affairs held “Dragon Boat Games in Keelung — Sustainable Living in Action” at National Taiwan Ocean University Dream Base and Qidu Indoor Children’s Playground. Connecting children’s right to play with Dragon Boat traditions, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and STEM/STEAM education, the event engaged nearly 200 primary school pupils in learning by doing.
